I am uniquely qualified to work in the disability industry due to my lived experience of navigating life after a traumatic accident that changed my direction.
Every day, I face and overcome challenges associated with my disability, giving me invaluable insights and empathy.
My journey has equipped me with a deep understanding of the emotional, physical, and social complexities individuals with disabilities encounter.
I am passionate about leveraging my experiences to support others just beginning their journey, guiding them towards finding their path, and empowering them to thrive despite any obstacles they may face.
Truth
Truth is paramount in my approach. Whilst I will always tell you the truth, I do so with respect and empathy, recognising the sensitivity of each situation. Honesty is delivered with care, understanding, and a commitment to fostering trust and understanding.
Authenticity
Authenticity is my cornerstone. What you see is what you get with me, rough edges and all. I believe in embracing imperfections and being genuine in every interaction. Transparency and honesty are not just ideals; they are integral parts of who I am.

Hi, I'm Shaun. My journey has been one of resilience and determination, defined by overcoming adversity and embracing life's challenges. It all started in September 2020 when I faced a life-altering accident. But amidst the trials, I found love in Courtney, whom I met in 2021, bringing light to my path.
My resilience is deeply rooted in a personal connection to disability; my mum, a paraplegic herself from an accident, taught me the strength to navigate life's toughest moments. I've experienced firsthand the hardships of dealing with pressure injuries, shaping my perspective and determination.
As a caregiver for my mum and a recipient of care during my recovery, I understand the importance of support and compassion. During my mum's hospitalisation, I found solace and inspiration in Lynda, a family friend who not only provided care but also introduced me to para sports. Lynda's journey as a Paralympic silver medalist ignited my passion for sports, sparking dreams of representing my country on the international stage.
Despite spending two years confined to bed during my recovery, I remain unwavering in my pursuit of excellence. With the support of loved ones like Courtney and Lynda, I am determined to reclaim my place in the world, fuelled by the aspiration to one day compete in the Paralympics.
My story is a testament to the resilience of the human spirit, reminding us that with determination, support, and a positive mindset, any obstacle can be overcome, and dreams can be realised.
